What's New with Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses?
June 27 2009 , Mary Mahoney Professional Nurse celebrated the 85th anniversary of the "clubs beginning".
Our theme for the 85th is " Frontline of Change: Nursing in the 21st Century". Dr Phyllis D. MeadowsPhD, MSN, RN was our guest speaker. She reflected on Mary Mahoney from a social anthroplologist point of view in the mid 19th century. Dr. Meadows urged all of us to be proactive in nursing, our community and personally with our health.
Special awrd was given tour own, Susie Clore who turned 93 on June 24th 2009. She has been a member for 68 years. Imagine that!
Prudence Burrell ,93, was also in attendace. She was honored at our 70th anniversary ( June 30 1995) that recognized Nurses of the Armed Forces.
A DVD will be available for purchase that recorded the 85th anniversary.
